BBC WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHER OF THE YEAR 2008
|
AIPP (Australian Institute of Professional Photography) APPA AWARDS
I entered the Science, Environment & Nature Photographer of the Year (4 entries allowed) and was awarded - one Gold and three Silver. I was runner up in that section - just pipped. I look forward to 2009! |
APERTUREThis competition was fit by the sudden market crash. I gained one Silver and two Bronze. |

In 2008 I decided to start entering competitions. A combination of how well some of my customers were doing in competitions though out the world and the prizes on offer said to me - "it is time ..." I was very happy with my first year of entries. I have enjoyed the new challenge of selecting images, careful processing (al always) and Watch this space as I try again in future competitions.
I won a Highly Commended for the section - In Praise Of Plants. Of some 32,000 entries from around the world, just 80 were picked out for awards. This same image was then selected for use in two calendars, a coffee mug, post card and in the annual competition book.
I joined the AIPP early 2008 and entered the annual awards for the first time. These awards are a show case of Australia's best photographers with several sections offered.
